MedFoto 2025: last days to submit!

The submission period for the first international Mediterranean photography contest is open until May 15. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate and share your perspective on the Mediterranean.
The fifth edition of the contest organized by the Fundació Alive and Club Nàutic l’Escala introduces a new category and two new special prizes. The jury, on the other hand, is renewed with the contributions of two new members.

Open to all perspectives
The open nature of MedFoto is reinforced this year with the launch of the new Popular category. This category, which replaces the previous Mobile division, not only accepts photographs taken with a mobile phone but also includes proposals made with other photographic devices obtaining a jpeg or analog file.

New prizes
In 2025, MedFoto will once again distribute up to 4,000 euros in cash prizes among the absolute winning image and the winners of each of the contest categories and will introduce two new special prizes:
- Young Talents: A voucher of 200 € for photographic material for the best author under 21 years old.
- Comic Nature: courtesy of the Friends of the Aiguamolls and the natural heritage of Empordà (AAPNE). A lot of Empordà products, a night in a hotel, and a one-year subscription to the association for the most unusual or funny proposal in the Wild Life or Underwater categories.
The jury is renewed
To select the best photographs, MedFoto has a jury of experts in photography and the marine environment that this year is renewed with the incorporation of photographers Adriana Olsina and David Salcedo. Laura Carrau, Oriol Alamany, and Xavier Salvador complete the team.
The most awaited moment
The winning authors will be announced at a ceremony to be held on Saturday, July 26 at Club Nàutic L’Escala.
The event will mark the beginning of the exhibition of the winning and finalist photographs of the fifth edition of MedFoto, which can be visited in the Boardroom of the sports club until August 26.
