Yesterday, Thursday, May 15, the submission period for MedFoto 2025, the international Mediterranean Sea photography contest co-organized by the Fundació Alive and the Club Nàutic L’Escala, closed.
Once again, we want to thank all the people who have trusted this project and shared their view of the sea. Your talent, passion, and commitment help us realize the fundamental mission of MedFoto: to highlight the beauty, biodiversity, and fragility of the Mediterranean, as well as its deep connection with human life.

In this 5th edition, we have received nearly a thousand photographs from 8 different countries: Spain, France, French Polynesia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Andorra, and Turkey.
The received images have been distributed among the eight categories of the contest. A whole mosaic of perspectives that invites us to discover, understand, and preserve our shared sea.

With the submissions closed, the jury’s selection tasks now begin. Adriana Olsina, David Salcedo, Ugo Mellone, Laura Carrau, Oriol Alamany, and Xavier Salvador will be responsible for carefully evaluating all the proposals to choose the best images of the year.
Starting July 1, we will publish the selection of finalist photographs through the web gallery and the Instagram account @medfotocontest.
The big date to remember, however, will be the MedFoto 2025 awards ceremony, which will take place on July 26 at the Club Nàutic L’Escala. The event will also serve to inaugurate the exhibition of the finalist and winning photographs of the edition. The exhibition can be visited until August 26 in the Boardroom of the Club Nàutic L’Escala.
