Discover the MedFoto 2022 finalist images!
Today, Friday, July 1, MedFoto, the world’s first contest dedicated exclusively to the Mediterranean Sea and its relationship with people, has published the 43 finalist images of its second edition. This year, the jury, made up of six experts in the world of photography and the marine environment, had to choose from nearly a thousand images submitted.
The popular vote period has begun!
With the publication of the images on the Instagram account of the contest co-organized by the Alive Foundation and the Club Nàutic l’Escala, the voting period which will reveal the winning author of the Popular Voting award begins. Consisting of a sailing excursion along the Costa Brava to share with your friends or family, this award will go to the image that gets the most “Likes” on the same Instagram account.
The popular voting period will remain open from July 1 to 15, the day on which the winner will be announced.
The end
To discover the best photography of the 2022 edition, as well as the winners of the seven MedFoto categories and the special awards, we will have to wait until Friday August 5, when the prize giving ceremony will be held. The event will take place at the Club Nàutic L’Escala and will inaugurate the exhibition of the finalist images of this edition, which can be visited until Sunday, September 4, in the Board Room of the Club.
The prizes
The MedFoto 2o22 is therefore preparing for the big day. This year, the contest will distribute more than 3,000 euros in cash prizes among the winning proposals, in addition to some special prizes. The best image taken within the photographic limits of the Costa Brava will win a weekend in a bungalow at Camping La Ballena Alegre for four people. The winner of the L’Escala division, a very special experience in L’Escala for two people that includes a night in a hotel with breakfast, lunch or dinner and a visit to the Anchovy and Salt Museum or to the Alfolí la Sal – Museum of l’Escala.
Under the theme The sea and the people, MedFoto 2022 has collected great images of landscape, wildlife, sports and professional nautical activities, underwater and conservation activities taken both with a digital camera and a mobile phone.
