Chicha calm

Description : The heat and the desperate stillness made a French sailor exclaim something along the lines of “This is a chiche calm! In French, “chiche” means greedy, so the expression could be translated as “This is a greedy calm”. For us, no wind means no waves and therefore no surfing. This report is a compilation of the last few years, during which I have immersed myself in a very hidden and fleeting world, where a small group of Menorcan surfers search for these waves that the Mediterranean offers in a capricious way. The climate and the conditions of our calm sea make the search for waves like a journey during which you don’t know what you’ll find, nor what reward you’ll get. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, it’s a game of patience.
