Description: The work of Isca García and the fishing of the big-scale sand smelt.
The artisanal fishing of the big-scale sand smelt its a very delicate work. From preparing the nets in winter, going out to set them knowing the suitable places for the catch, going to retrieve the nets shortly before sunset, and quickly returning to port to patiently unhook the fish one by one. This work is very delicate as it is necessary to avoid breaking the fish that are caught. Since there is no light available in Portlligat, they have to be unhooked using individual lanterns to see the fish and the net properly.
